What Does Code A061_F Mean?

Fault code A061_F on the Rheem R802VA indicates that the IFC board has declared the blower motor dead — it has failed to achieve any detectable RPM after repeated attempts. The IFC detects a dead blower condition when the main limit switch circuit has been open for more than 150 seconds, meaning the furnace interior is overheating because no air is moving through it. After four dead blower declarations in a single heat call, the furnace enters a hard lockout and fault code 61 is reported via Bluetooth.

Unlike a soft lockout that clears automatically after one hour, a hard lockout requires the furnace power to be cycled off and back on after the repair is completed before the furnace will attempt to run again.

The R802VA uses a constant CFM ECM (electronically commutated motor) blower. When this motor fails, it typically stops completely rather than running slowly. Possible failures include the motor winding itself, the separate ECM motor control module bolted to the motor, or the wiring harness connecting the control board to the motor module.
