About Payne

Payne Heating & Cooling originated as Payne Furnace & Supply Co., a residential heating equipment manufacturer. The brand became part of Carrier Global Corporation in 1955, when Carrier merged with Affiliated Gas Equipment, Inc., the holding company that owned Payne Furnace & Supply Co., Bryant Heater Co., and Day & Night Water Heater Co. That acquisition brought several complementary residential brands into Carrier's portfolio.

Carrier Global Corporation was founded on June 26, 1915, in Syracuse, New York, by Willis Carrier. Carrier was acquired by United Technologies Corporation in 1979, and in April 2020 was spun off as an independent publicly traded corporation on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol CARR. As of 2025, Carrier reported revenue of $21.7 billion and employed approximately 47,000 people worldwide.
