What Does Code E 292 Mean?
Error code E292 on the Lennox EL296UHV indicates that the indoor blower motor is unable to start. The control board has commanded the motor to run, but it is not reaching the expected speed or is not moving at all. The furnace enters a 1-hour soft lockout.
The most common cause is a physically obstructed blower wheel. Debris such as insulation, paper, or other objects can fall into the blower compartment and jam the wheel. Seized motor bearings from age, lack of lubrication, or moisture damage can also prevent the motor from spinning. In some cases, the motor's internal electronic module has failed even though the motor windings are intact.
Without the blower motor running, the furnace cannot circulate heated air through the ductwork. Even if the burners could light, the control board will not allow combustion without adequate airflow because the heat exchanger would overheat.
