Bryant 315AAV Error Code 41: Blower Motor Fault
What Does Code 41 Mean?
Status code 41 on the Bryant 315AAV is a blower motor fault. The integrated furnace control made 30 consecutive attempts across heating cycles in which the circulating blower either failed to reach 250 RPM within the required startup time or failed to communicate with the control board. Code 41 is the persistent fault record; code 15 is the lockout that occurs when the fault triggers a lockout condition.
The Bryant 315AAV uses an ECM (electronically commutated motor) for the circulating blower. ECM motors communicate digitally with the control board and receive speed commands from it. A fault in this communication path — such as a loose or damaged wiring harness connector at the motor or board — can prevent the control from confirming that the motor is running correctly. A failed ECM motor that has seized or lost its ability to start will also trigger this code.
A loosely seated blower wheel that rubs on the housing can prevent the motor from reaching operating speed even when the motor itself is functional. A technician will check the wiring harness connections, inspect the blower wheel for obstructions, and test the motor.
Common Causes
When to Call a Professional
Contact a licensed HVAC technician if:
- Contact a technician to inspect the ECM blower motor, wiring harness, and blower wheel
- ECM motor replacement requires a compatible module; do not substitute a non-Bryant motor without verifying compatibility
