What Does Code Fast Flash Mean?

A fast-flashing LED on the Trane TUD1B080A9H31B control board means the thermostat has requested heat and the furnace is in the process of firing up or is already actively heating your home. The Integrated Furnace Control is running through its normal startup sequence: the inducer motor starts, the pressure switch closes, the igniter heats up, the gas valve opens, and the burners light.

This is completely normal operation. You should hear the inducer motor start first, followed by the click of the gas valve and the sound of burners igniting. The blower fan will start after a short delay to allow the heat exchanger to warm up.

If you notice the furnace is not producing warm air despite showing this code, the ignition sequence may be stalling at a particular step without yet triggering a fault code. Listen for unusual sounds or watch for the LED pattern to change to a numbered flash code, which would indicate a specific problem.
